design process

  • I began by auditing the existing app to identify structural gaps, usability breakdowns, and performance friction. From there, I benchmarked competitor platforms to understand industry standards and uncover missed opportunities.
  • I mapped end-to-end trading flows, rebuilt the information architecture, and redesigned every screen from scratch—covering UX, UI, interaction logic, and visual consistency.
  • Throughout the project, I ran frequent alignment sessions with the product managers, engineers, and senior stakeholders and presented clickable prototypes to senior leadership, ensuring the design direction remained focused and decisive.
  • The product followed a waterfall development approach. Once features were finalized, I documented the designs, conducted detailed walkthroughs with the engineering team, and prepared comprehensive handoff materials to support implementation.

 Outcome & Continuity

As the pandemic eased, I moved on to explore new opportunities. By then, the work had given the team a clear product vision and a strong foundation for development. The final prototypes and evolving design system ensured continuity, enabling the next designer to pick up the work efficiently and carry the product forward.

data driven-Approach

This project was carried out during the pandemic, when direct access to users was limited. To move forward, I relied on a data-driven, benchmark-informed approach—using competitor analysis, established industry patterns, and existing product data to guide early design decisions.

I worked closely with the product manager to understand trader workflows and business constraints, then translated that complexity into a mobile experience that felt clear, intentional, and scalable.

Rather than over-investing in a single phase, I used low-fidelity wireframes early to validate structure and flow, progressively moving into high-fidelity prototypes as the product evolved. In parallel, the design system was built incrementally alongside the screens—ensuring consistency while allowing the product to adapt as requirements became clear.

Lead UI/UX Designer

Overview

Due to NDA and privacy requirements, some design materials—particularly research insights and competitive analysis—are intentionally not shown here.

As the Lead UI/UX Designer, I led the end-to-end redesign of the mobile trading app—shaping the product experience from strategy to execution. This included defining the overall UX vision, restructuring key workflows, and designing a modern, high-performance interface tailored for professional traders.
